Aussie Pet Mobile Frisco – Policies

Prior to Arrival: Please make sure your pet has had a recent potty break and is easily accessible prior to our arrival. For cats, we suggest closing off rooms where they may hide. Provide a cat carrier for transport to and from the pet mobile so the cat does not escape. If you do not have cat carrier, we can provide one.

Cancellations: Please give us at least 72 hours’ notice of changes to your appointment by calling or texting us at 972-798-8780. It is difficult to fill last minute cancellations, which results in a loss of income for the groomer. A $50 cancellation fee may be assessed if the appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of your appointment.

Arrival time: Please allow 30 minutes before and after your scheduled appointment time for groomer arrival. We do our best to be on time, but sometimes we may experience unexpected delay due to earlier grooming appointment complications, traffic conditions or weather.  We will call or text if we expect to arrive outside this window.

Scheduling: After your appointment is scheduled, we may call or text to see if we can adjust your scheduled day or time to help us optimize routing.  We understand and respect that you have other scheduling commitments and moving your appointment is entirely optional but appreciated when needed.

Rebooking: We prefer our pets stay on a recurring schedule for haircuts or de-shedding according to their coat type and length. This helps keep them matt free, allows their skin to breath without excess shedding and prevents discomfort from excess nail growth.  We see most of our reoccurring pets every 4-8 weeks depending on breed and coat.

Fleas: If you know or suspect that your pet has fleas or ticks please let us know before your appointment so we can schedule your appointment accordingly.  This will normally be at the end of our groom schedule to allow us time to properly fumigate our pet mobile to avoid spreading the pests to other pets in our care. If we identify live fleas or “flea dirt” on your pet during the groom, we will let you know and recommend you contact your vet to obtain one of the newest flea prescription medications that are working well for this area. There will be a $25 flea contamination fee for live fleas in addition to flea treatment fees if we find fleas on your pet.

Vaccinations: In accordance with State of Texas requirements, we require current rabies vaccinations for all pets to be groomed.  We require written vaccination documents to show that your pet is current for the rabies vaccination. You can submit proof of vaccination via email to friscodispatch@aussiepetmobile.com or via text to 972-798-8780.  We will attach the vaccination record to your customer record for future reference.  Pets may be extra lethargic or have a reaction to a vaccine. Therefore, pets must not be scheduled for grooming less than 72 hours after a vaccination is administered.  We disinfect our pet mobile after each groom. However, we recommend additional vaccinations as suggested by your vet for the prevention of diseases.

Heavy Matting: Brushing matted hair is painful to the pet. We will try and save what we can according to the style you prefer, if possible. To prevent matting and future shave downs, depending on your pet’s coat type and length, we recommend re-booking at a frequency that will keep your pet’s coat in excellent condition. Your groomer will recommend a good schedule for your pet such as every 4-8 weeks. Significant matting over the entire body and or legs may result in additional shave down fees. We will not shave down your pet without your advance approval.  Removing heavy matting is risky and can result in minor nicks or abrasions or reveal underlying skin conditions or rashes. Aussie Pet Mobile and/or the groomer will not be held liable for these issues. In some severe cases, we may recommend that your pet be seen by a veterinarian.

Shave Downs of Double-Coated Dog Breeds: The AKC and many veterinarians recommend against shaving of double-coated dog breeds such as German and Australian Shepherds and Labrador and Golden Retrievers. (see http://www.petguide.com/petcare/dog/what-is-a-double-coated-dog/ for a list). Shave downs reduce heat tolerance as the underlying coat helps skin to breath and cool the dog. Shaving exposes the skin and can make the dog susceptible to sun burn and can increase the likelihood of insect bites. Shaving does not eliminate shedding; it only eliminates the length of the shed fur. In addition, the dog’s coat may not grow back to its original condition and may grow back uneven following shaving. The owner assumes full responsibility for any unexpected consequences of a shave down.

Difficult pets: We occasionally encounter pets that absolutely refuse to be groomed. It rarely happens but in the event your pet cannot be groomed there is a minimum $50 trip fee.

Skin, Eyes and Ears: Our shampoos are professional grade high quality PH Balanced, environmentally friendly, biodegradable, non-toxic, and hypo allergenic. Aussie Pet Mobile cannot be held liable for skin, eye or ear irritations that can occur due to shampoo sensitivity or underlying conditions. Despite using care while trimming hair around the eyes, eye irritation can occur if a hair particle enters the eye. Pets may scratch at their eyes and create further irritation. We clean ears with professional pet ear cleaner. This can reveal underlying ear infections and we will advise you of such conditions when discovered and will recommend veterinary care.
